As the lay custodian of the sacred Tooth Relic of the Sri Dalada Maligawa. I wish to offer my gratitude to his Excellency Mahinda Rajapaksha . President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. For his gracious and benevolent act of donating the newly conserved old High court building located adjacent to Sri Dalada Maligawa. For purpose of establishing the Museum of the World Buddhism.
With the blessing of the most venerable Maha Nayaka Theros of the Malwatta and Asgiriya chapters, the gracious and philanthropic cooperation of the international governments, religious bodies and individuals and with the untiring efforts of the Senior Archaeologist, Prof. Leelananda Prematilleke and specialist team together with Sri Dalada Maligawa coordinators, we are pleased to present the first Museum of the World Buddhism organized by the Sri Dalada maligawa for the serene enjoyment of world Buddhists.
